Elizabeth Laidlaw, Founder and Artistic Director of Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre notes that “We were thrilled and delighted with the turn out and enthusiasm for last year’s “Evening In Verona,” fundraiser.  Businesses and craftspeople and farmers donated goods, food and wine to help the cause.  People from all over Benzie County and as far as Manistee and Traverse City showed up.  It was a terrific opportunity to talk about our upcoming season, hear input and ideas from our longtime fans and share our dreams for growth.  I can’t wait for “The Feast of Illyria.”

Eleven years ago, the Lakeside Shakespeare Theatre was founded to share the thriving creative and artistic force of the Chicago Theatre community with the Benzie County community, and to establish a mutually beneficial and sustainable relationship in art, theatre, and theatre education. Fans come from all over the globe to attend their packed performances and educational workshops each summer. Come out to help support Benzie County’s only resident Shakespeare Company and all of their free programming!
